You guys obviously do not know politics. Since the mint is owned by the Gov...., i. e. Stephen and croonies,
they are all huddling in Ottawa and deciding what kind of BS and accounting system they use to create a huge loss and what kind of garbled undecipherable spin they use to tell us the mint is loosing money..( blaming it perhaps on the expensive penny?), all the while siphoning off millions to pay for ministers 1000 $ a night suites , orange juices, hookers, chauffeurs and first class tickets etc....
after all.. someone has to pay ... right?

Wow,is it PMS coingirl? Like you mentioned,I do not even read the story in the book.I am only interested in the mintage quantities which are supposed to be accurate in the report.
By the way,you could probably get a free orange juice too at the next Torex as the Mint has a few tables there.Lol

CDcoinman.. NO-nononon PMS ( Party Material Secrets ?) just suggesting ways..

just think about this:
If you or I would have owned the Feds even as much as $ 2 and would have asked: can I pay it back?
there would have been penalties and interest....
is it called : Ministers Privilege or right to do so without consequences? or is it called a "disadvantaged minority" privilege?
anyway, enough of that ...

Last year, the mint report did not surface until late summer. I would not expect it this year until at least near the end of the summer.

The annual report is now out. There are no surprises with mintage figures, as far as I can tell.

For 2011 cents, steel beats zinc 55% to 45%!

As usual Hbbkiddo the "frustrated POLITICIAN" strikes again. Just what in HE double hockey sticks does Prime Minister Harper have to do with the Royal Canadian Mint which is a Crown Corporation that indeed turns a profit and contributes to the economy. person whats info on the RCM report for 2011 and you get on your "idiot" soap box once again! helmut I thought you were suspended here? !!
