Hello, my half brother regularly uses his metal detector and digs up coins. The other day he experienced his best find yet. A 1900 Canadian penny, a 1918 silver nickel and a token. He would like to get more information on that token. He did not take a picture of it, but he thinks it is this one:

Any info like date and value would be appreciated.

It's a French thing I wouldn't understand.

La Presse is a leading Canadian French language newspaper founded in Montreal in 1884. Your token appears to be one used for a draw/competition of some kind as the translation reads 'See if your number is in La Presse - Good Luck!' The token shows a circulation of 100,000. Today the circulation is close to 205,000 daily and about 250,000 for the Saturday edition. At a guess I would think the token was issued mid-20th century.

Mechman:

A translation of the message would be:
On the side of the first picture "Check if your number is in the La presse journal. Good luck."
Other side "La presse The biggest newspaper in Canada Circulation 100,000 Hold on to this coin Montreal Canada"

Anyone else has more information on it ?
