I went to the mint this morning to get my 20 for 20 coin, the coin is in hard plastic capsule and that is in a soft plastic flip. I can't tell PVC from non PVC, all I know is that PVC makes plastic soft and this flip seems soft to me. So my question is... Is this PVC? If so does the hard capsule inside protect the coin from the PVC? My gut says the mint wouldn't do something like that but I don't want to chance my coin getting damaged.

I see no problems with it as long as the coin itself is in the hard shell casing. It's usually air tight and safe for long term storage!

I'm pretty sure the mint (or any other numismatic supplier) no longer uses PVC plastic.
