I've seen the last number missing many times, usually the L in liberty is missing, and In God We Trust too... but this coin is considerably sharp and there is really little to no hint of what should have followed the 199 .... any thoughts?

Grease or other debris filling the last number in the date on the die. I'm guessing that it was a "4". Is it a wide or Close AM on the reverse?

Ohh nice find ..

I have seen them before and like Dave42 mentioned it could be a Grease filler there .. Still an interesting coin , think you can snap a photo of the reverse? curious also if its a wide/or/close AM ...

Nice find tho , I think its one to slap in a 2x2 and hold onto ..

It does look like a zero, but the close America reverse would make me suspect otherwise. If it is a zero I may be rich lol

Hi DrDon

I am using Ubuntu 12.04 (also free)

Gimp is great for a lot of things, but Gwyddion is a SPM (scanning probe microscopy) program...It is 9.4 meg for Windows.

Hey guys, these are open source programs and they are absolutely FREE
