this coin seems to have fat numbers and lettering. its not smashed or anything that I can tell. any ideas ?

thanks you for your service. you'll probably hear from a expert shortly, but I would say its normal. A lot of older dates that I have found have been thick, but from what I know there normal. so we may both learn something and did not mean to sound rude earlier, sorry..

thanks for your input ! I've looked at over 20,000 wheat cents .its not normal. its far from it.. I can't imagine what happened..

I would take it to the local coin dealer but the last time I was there all he wanted was to buy silver or gold,,, and not the brightest guy.. its horrible hear for coin collectors
