1879-CC is a real scarcity in DMPL, among the rarer in the series. The coin in this auction hammered at Heritage for $5750 a little more than a year ago; the bidding is about at top-of-market right now.

At Heritage, it was resold for $7,000 on Jan. 20, 2011, and currently has a "buy it now from owner" price of $9,350.
