I really don't collect Canadian coins but every time I get one in change, I put it either in a plastic tube or a 2x2. I've been doing that for well over 60 years. Until a few days ago, I never even saw a Canadian Quarter but just got one in change. It's a 1984 one and appears to be in fantastic condition since it traveled so far. I'm in the Chicago, Illinois area if you ever heard of that place. I think I'd start a collection of those but finding one every 60 years would take way to long to collect them all.

Is it the RCMP commemorative? I think it is 1984.

Not aware of anything special about the 1984 Canadian Quarter. It has the Caribou in its design. Made of Nickel it should weigh 5.07g and have a diameter of 23.88mm

Of course I haven't been able to pick one up from circulation here in Canada yet! Guess they're all vacationing in Chicago!

Not special in Canada but for me it's a real rare thing. It is odd though that not more Canadian coins reach us. People cross back and forth every day so I would think the coins would to.

It's mostly the smaller denominations I find hanging around in the States. Never found a Canadian quarter over here in the wild, but I do have a few that have been given to me.

qbvbsite, not around here. I've seen very few American quarters out on the west coast.
