Not a lot of details there either, but looks like this is one of the Canadian Trade dollars. Were these things legal tender and actually circulated?

Yes.. and some people really collect them Slur. Trade dollars like this were sometimes given out for different events and circulated as if they were dollars.. sometimes when I go to the banks and they give me a bag of nickel dollars I find one or two of these in there... I don't really like 'em so I will either not take 'em at the bank or I send 'em back when I visit the bank again.

They're quite similar in size to nickel dollars, and with a face value of $1, I guess it's not hard for them to get mixed up. So these were legal tender only until a certain date, it looks like.
I saw several of these in my LCS's 3-for-$5 bin, lightly circulated, with all sorts of different designs. If anyone's looking for a certain design I might be able to help find it.

Bought these rolls at face from a friend at work. Mint wrapped roll of 1987 loonies, first year of the loonie. Mint wrapped roll of 2012 magnetic pennies, last year of the penny.

My most recent purchase cost me 74c CDN. Could I class this as a lowball coin? Seems strange that the edges are worn right down when there is still some detail showing in the middle. Coin is too dirty to get better pictures.

Ok, I haven't posted in a while. I've been a bit busy lately but here are my newest acquisitions. 1901 5 Cents, NGC MS-62: 1903 10 Cents (Key Date of the Series), PCGS AU-55: Newfoundland 1888 10 Cents (Key date of the series and very rare in AU), NGC AU-details (seems problem-free to me, I think it will regrade at ICCS): I have a few more coming in over the next week or two and I will post them when I get them. -zx
