Managed to lock down another one of these BoC beauties. While extremely plentiful in MS-62 and MS-63, they're harder to find in MS-65 and up. Honestly, I would've liked to go for top pop and purchase the MS-66 gatewest has for sale (one of only 7), but I don't have $11,400 to drop just right now.  Edited by zxcccxz

Another nice group of Silver Dollars.
I think most of the 59's had weak Northern Lights.
In 1960, the reverse was re-engraved which resulted
in the lines running through the "C" and giving a stronger strike.
Not sure, but your 85 may be of Specimen Quality.

Thanks JimmyD. I have seen specimen quality coins from the '70s which are brilliant on brilliant (.500 Silver Dollars). Newer specimen coins are more linen or almost bullion style fields with reverse proof devices. I have a hard time determining older specimen coins from PL's. The 1985 was sold as a PL. Very nice dollars really like the 83 proof and 59 I Bought this proof penny for $60 and thought is was a good deal. How much is the normal price of these?  |

Xd99xd, thanks, Mint issue price for that Proof 1/2 ounce Farewell to the Penny tribute was $54.95. A very popular coin, I think you got a good deal at $60 in hand. I have one and it has that nice rose gold plating on the maple leaf. One of my favourite NCLT coins. Face value - 1 cent.

I think its one of my favorites aswell. The frist time I saw it I knew I had to get one,from looking so nice. I have been checking ebay for them and I see them for 75-120$ which seems a bit high, so thats why I'm confused on the normal price of these. Edited by xd99xd

Others may take a few years but will eventually die down. However, once in a blue moon, something like the glass ladybug will retain it's value and them some for many many years. This is always how the NCLT market has been. The only exception being when the intrinsic value exceeds the original issue price. |
