A nice lot of Silver Dollars SilverDon.
I have all 5 varieties but found the #5 Variety a little hard to find in MS Grade.
It was the last one I obtained.
Happy hunting.

Picked up this lot of 5 colored quarters for just under $4 a piece

Post-Your-Most-Recent-Canadian-Coin-Purchases!

Never heard of this grading company before but got the lot of these 3 coins for $2.20 so I figured there wasn't much to lose at that point. As far as I can tell all the varieties have been identified correctly, the grades may be a bit questionable.

Good morning, AgCoinAu. Thank you, but currently I do not have enough posts to send you an e-mail. Still the newbie here. I also recently gotten married, so getting life things put together with my wife.

Andy Z. will be at the Regina and Edmonton coin show. He will not be there next month for the bourse. (Edited here) Though a new lady seller will be there, in his place. Andy showed me some gold coins for sale, but I have yet to promote myself into buying some.

Brian G. found some great coins to sell, since the last time I saw him.

The guy across from Brian, (I truthfully can not remember his name) I overheard him chatting with another buyer, he will be in BC for their coin show.

The Manitoba Coin Show is in November 1st and 2nd and I may not go, still not sure, because the Manitoba Comic Con (the Halloween after party) is also on that weekend. I have a younger brother who is a toy collector and I usually spend some time hunting for him and checking out the artist's emporium.

That's all the news I have around here in the Peg.

Cheers for now.

For this coin on page 92, what causes the fine (oval) lines and blemishes around the edges of the capsule? Is it glue, handling, other?

Reason for asking - On the weekend I saw another RCM $10 silver 1/2 oz coin with the same marks around the edge of the capsule. Coin was beautiful, but capsule definitely detracted from the overall impression.

To AgHoarder,

Thanks for the compliment. I bought that 1874 5 cent Crosslet from Brian G. The guys picked some great coins during the Stamp and Coin Bourse's summer break. That coin was an upgrade to a one I already have.

Regarding the toning being slightly off, a coin store owner once told me, "That's the way they come in, and there's nothing I can do about that", Al from Provincial Stamp and Coin. That was right after I saw one of his 1858 5 cent coin's reverse and it was absolutely stunning through my loupe. The obverse not so much and I told him that Queen Victoria face was scuff up too much for my liking. Passed on it.

Anyway cheers for now.

it is a Strike Doubling.
