If gold is in the title, I am watchin....

New show just starting on Nat Geo, about gold mining in Columbia, an all that comes with it since the gold surge in recent years, which of course brings in the negative aspect of things as well with all the profits, via gangs an drug war lords....

Should be interesting, an if you catch this post later on, good chance you can catch on replay or on demand....

Sounds interesting. Does anyone know if this can be viewed online somewhere? I would love to see it.

This link here shows it listing right now at 8, but not sure if you can stream it, but perhaps if you search through this site as I will continue to myself, an maybe we can find access to it. Never hurts to check Netflix, or others like the ones dedicated to television programs....

The commie Colombian rebel groups FARC and ELN don't mess around, they mean business and will attack any business in their area of operations that doesn't pay their revolutionanry "taxes". And when they're not busy fighting the government, they sometimes attack each other to try to expand the territory for their drug farms.

Yes I heard the Farc's name mentioned often during that documentary and they are indeed not to be taken lightly. No different then these drug gangs in Mexico, or the Taliban in middle east, all just bully thugs preying on the weak an innocent....

Same story different millennium eh....

Funny thing is since the gold spike, they pay more attention to gold, then they do their coca plants....

Agent Orange will go nicely on their drug farms. Why hasn't that been done?
Is it because there are too many drug users that want to keep the farms going?

Sel there is this other good show that I thought may be right up your alley, as I seem to recall you having an interest in gems an emeralds an such if I am not mistaken....

Anyhow, there is this other show Nat Geo is running about emeralds, an it is real fascinating. Turns out Columbia is a capitol for the good ones, in a little area called Muzo, seems like, an forgive me if I misspelled as I was going from memory....

Seems like they are more sought after under the radar of sorts then diamonds. The green beauty of them, very hypnotizing like gold. Makes me think of the great old movie with Kathleen Turner an Michael Douglas, via "Romancing the stone".....

Agent Orange is a sissy chemical compared to Agent White. That's the one that they never ever talk about.
