I have never seen these before, an this is out of Latvia. The shipping cost, volatile market between delivery, blah blah blah, but they look real cool an if they are real an I could maybe get them these days for say 500 total, may be worth it, as the seller offers returns if not 100% satisfied...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/32090475969....m1438.l2649

I figure they may hold a special collector novelty over here in the west, especially after the Euro goes totally bottoms up, any thoughts?

No doubt once you had them here they would sell I figure, as most will not bid out of Latvia with that transit time.....

Anyhow, I was just kickin around ideas as always, an doubt I will ever go for these, just curious if anyone here can confirm them as real an unique perhaps, or just any info on them at all?

The seller has good feedback and excepts returns, but I still have an uneasiness about them. I don't know anything about Latvia, I'd be worried about them being a Caramilk bar with a Tungsten filling.

I always think if I'm uneasy, then so will any potential buyers when it comes time to sell.

I honestly wouldn't trust them, Hawk. That's me, though. Sobriety, er, society has made me suspicious.

I felt the same way, to much red tape if they did turn out to be fake. You would have to get it proven an documented to ebay for them to pay you back if the seller did not refund money as they claim.....

No where enough upside in all that mess, to even take a chance. That is why I always like to post my crazy ideas here before I ever bid, so as to get all the insight from different views an such, bring me back to reality an keep me grounded so to speak, lol....

Honestly, could just be the pictures...

But that doesn't look like silver to me... color seems wrong..

Again, might just be the pictures.

They look a lot like the poured Engelhard bars to me as far as their color goes.

500 grams is an interesting size though... about 16 Troy ounces, if I did the conversion calc right.

Yes, I would be concerned about the source of these bars as well. When that old spidey sense starts tingling, you KNOW that something is amiss, even if it is not obvious... heh... perhaps especially when it is not obvious!
