Hi all, sorry about this basic question, but I have searched this forum, links from this forum, the RAMint website, and many other websites thrown up by Google but can't seem to find this out.

After reading the recent thread about die rotations I've tried to find out what is officially considered top and bottom points (or even north, south, west, east) of the obverse alignment so I can measure possible rotations against some recognised reference point/s.

Can anyone help clarify this for me? javascript:insertsmilie('')

1.)I consideer that the obverse is upright when the face is looking straight ahead, level.
That is confirmed in this case with the legends are neatly set out either side of a vertical diameter as shown here. Condition 1 is met in this case.

Would this rule change on the lady's demise?
Like a 90 degree anticlockwise rotation to then rightly portrat her as lying flat on a slab
