Is Is Possible To Bleach One Side Of A US Dollar?

I came across and odd note today, 1981 dollar. One side looks normal (for a well wore note) and the other side looks the color of the old gold certificate notes. I would think it would be hard to bleach just one side but this site has taught me that anything is possible.

Could have been sitting on the dash of a car in the sun for a while, This would "sun bleach" the note

Yes it is and it can be very easily done, not with bleach but other chemicals. There is some stuff out there where you can achieve a complete "blank side" while the other side remains unaffected in as little as 5 minutes.

I don't see where the information would serve any beneficial purpose.

Suffice it to say it can be done.

Google images paper money bleach.

The benifit would be that the note could then be passed off as an ERROR note.

Some error note carry a high premium in the collector world.
