Does anyone know the story behind the 1987 $100 gold Canadian commerative coin, as far as the coins without lettering on the edge and what the actual minting of those coins as opposed to the normal coins which have lettering on the Edge?

Thanks,
Keith

I'm not sure if anyone knows the actual mintage of the rare no edge lettering type. All I could find out was the total mintage of both types.= 145,175.
As far as the story behind it,the no edge lettering was a mistake/error.How many were minted (?)
(I Believe that's why books have the "total" mintage of both types.)
I hope this helps a bit
