I have this gold token I dont know much about. What is the story of this coin? Does anyone have an idea how much gold is in this thing or what it is worth? Thank you for your time.

It is an imitation California Gold token, genuine examples never have a bear and always have a denomination. Some of them were made of low karat gold but the majority of the imitations are gold-plated base metal.

Oh well that is what I assumed. I bought it like 12 years ago for $10 so no big loss!

I've seen these things go for around $20 or so on ebay sometimes less sometimes much more depending on how their marketed.
