Here's a quick update to one of my earlier posts about the 1936 Columbia, South Carolina Sesqui-Centennial half-dollar. At the time of my original post, I did not include an image of the original holder used to mail/distribute the coin. Here's a link to the original post with pictures of the coin: http://goccf.com/t/114754

The cardboard holder was manufactured by John H. Eggers -- an Eggers holder was also used to distribute the Oregon Trail Memorial commemorative half-dollar.

The three-coin holder could support individual coin sales as well as "set" sales -- a complete set of Columbia, SC half-dollars consisted of an example from the mints at Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco. You'll sometimes find these holders with "P" "D" and "S" written in by hand over each coin slot.

Enjoy!
