I ain't seen one of those before!

Does this type of error bring more at auction than it's standard contemporary?

Hi Broken-Coin,

Nice major error from India!

I really like the dramatically doublestruck pieces!

Hi sel_691,

Yes, nicely doublestruck coins bring MUCH more at auction than normally struck ones. (This may not be true of Ancient coins but certainly is true for nearly everything else).

BTW, you can specialize. That is, look for only doublestruck U.S., ones made in the U.K., only 20th Century pieces, only ones made of silver, or . . . .

Best,
Bill

It is S3222 which in VF books at about £75 to £85.
In fact in the UK errors on older coins tend to de-value them to a certain extent (off strikes etc).I would be happier with a well struck GVF.
