I do demonstrations and to demonstrate I carry in my pocket three airtights, an 1995 Silver Walking Liberty, a 1974 Bahamian Dollar and a 1995 Fiji dollar coin. Just as the three dollars are different and differ in value, so do many other thins I can compare them to from people to products. Everyone always want to know if they can keep my Walking liberty Bullion coin

I have three in my pocket today, 2 widow's mites, and a Three Cent Silver. All are in 2x2's and will be given as tips to waitresses or bank tellers. I love the idea of passing along a little something to non-collectors. You just never know who you might inspire.

ND, When you come to Indiana we want to be inspired with gold and Morgan dollars. This should give you a little time to plan accordingly! I am sure Kyra will back me up on this!

Now who's BUSTED. [:p] So your the one wearing out the Morgan dollars. LOL
What's all this talk about wearing out Morgan dollars?! Don't make me call the axe-man! Actually, there is one worn-out Morgan dollar I'd love to have as a pocket piece. My Granddad carried a Morgan around in his pocket for years. He'd let us kids play with it, so who knows what kind of shape it's in now. My Gran has it now, and I'm trying to think of a subtle hint to leave to let her know that I'd like to have it someday. For now my pocket piece is a cent with a heart cut out of the center that a friend gave me at our high school graduation. Rachel [:p]

Like you Kira, I carried my grandfathers coin for many years, and finally gave it to my son to carry. Carried a silver dollar for my birthday year for a number of years, but got tired of that and put it away in the drawers. Now I only carry a lodge token and a small black weather rock. Seems to do same thing as the dollars did and I'm not worried about loosing it.

I carry a 1995 Silver Eagle when I'm at work. I though for awhile once someone had stolen it but it turned up in one of the pockets of the backpack that I take to work. Hey OldDan is that black rock an Apache Tear? I remember we talked about those once in CoinWorld.

The last time that I attempted to give away a Morgan dollar, I thought that I was going to end up in trouble. (Anyone remember the $2 bill incident). Last spring while making my way back to Delaware, I made an attempt to pay the bridge toll (Chesapeake Bay Bridge) and the cashier got all bent out of shape. So instead of getting a coin with a value of $10 to $12, she ended up with nothing but the $2.50 toll. However, when CoinFest makes its appearance in Indy, there will be a little something special for all my Hoosier friends

One and the same, a beautiful smooth, glossy, black globule of volcanic glass that has worked it's wonders for me a fair number of years. Many times better than a pocket piece or any other item that could be carried in the pocket.

The Apache tear works best if it is placed in a Blessed medicine bag along with a white stone ,, and the breast feather of an eagle, and worn around your neck, it just so happens that I know an Apache medicine man that can bless the bag for you, for a 30-30 rifle and two horses ,I can get that done for you !!!

Gosh, I got mine done, way back in 1972, for a lot less and it has been with me ever since. Better than a best friend as we have NEVER had a disagreement!

I carry a couple Civil War tokens - one from the hometown and one with my last name on it. I also carry a Roman Empire Constantine the Great (307-357 AD) coin, for those rare occasions when you "need" an old coin for something. For part time pocket pieces, I usually keep a couple cwt or Condor token culls with me to hand out to kids.

I carry two coins together at present;
1) A 1697 English silver halfcrown grading VG if that and counterstamped, very shiny on the highest parts from jingling around with other coins in my pocket. I could probably sell it for a whole of $5, so I figure it's better off in my pocket!
2) A 16XX (last two digits worn off, probably 1670s or maybe 1680s) English gold half guinea. Really in bad shape, slightly bend, almost worn smooth, although the obverse and reverse legends are still readable (except where it counts). Retail value maybe $30 at a push, I once tried selling it to a dealer just to see what I could get for it, he said he really didn't know what to offer me for it because it was really only worth it's bullion what bit was left! So he said he'd decline the offer... thus I've still got it jingling around in my pocket.

In Hawaii, little bits of volcanic glass sheaped by a lava fountain are known as Pele's tears (after the Volcano goddess) http://volcanoes.usgs.gov/Products/...leTears.htmldo you wear your Apache Tear, OD?
