I use a 2000 1/2 ounce Australian Silver Dragon as my lucky piece. I figure I lived to see the new millennium so I selected this piece as my lucky coin. I believe that in the Chinese culture the dragon is a symbol of good luck and strength. catman

I carry a 1900-O Morgan dollar that is in about Good condition. I like the sound of a silver dollar as it "jingle and jangles" as well as the looks I get fom cashiers when I take loose change out of my pocket. Actually, it is a way to seek out fellow numismatics. Fellow coin collectors like us usually will comment when they see an unique coin. Then my girlfriend will roll her eyes as the conversation immediately turns to coins. "You collect?...what do you collect?...you have that coin?...that's great!...ever check out Coin Community?"

I carry the first two Sackies I received in 2000 from our Walmart! Actually I just wanted to see how they stack up against wear. Actually, other than the fact they turned dark like our cents do they are wearing very nicely. Also carry a Buffalo nickel and the date has long since worn off and one Canadian nickel? Don't ask me why on the Canadian nickel! My good luck charm is actually in my other pocket and that would be my Apache Tear Drop that was hand delivered from Arizona in 1972. These stones have a LOT of history! Also carry a chunk of crystal that was also a gift a few years back! They must be very good medicine as I am still alive! Boy, could I tell you a few stories here but....it is a coin forum!

I carried a Morgan dollar as a "worry stone" for years. I got rid of it when it started to look like a worn 3 cent silver piece! LOL, Mike

When I first saw the subject of this thread, I immediately thought of my own pocket piece, a 38 S&W Chief. However, I caught up in the first sentence and in the spirit of the topic, I often carry a Canadian bimetal $2 piece or a "loonie" (CDN $1), just as conversation starters. On other occasions, I'll carry for a short time an unusual coin which I've recovered from change, e.g. the Panama "dime" (1/10 Balboa) which I picked up in change in Labrador, but didn't discover until I was in Arizona.

Oh, were we supposed to include the handguns? Mine won't exactly fit in a pocket but one is usually present or close to a pocket?

Yup, I sure do, I have 3 items I tote about, my favorite piece to throw around is a 1oz 1997 SAE (the sound of that puppy hitting the counter top at a bar always turns heads) .--2nd item is a 1922 piece dollar--3rd item is a 2000 D SAC just received from my boss as a "tip" at a meeting bout a month ago

I believe that's an RCC token. Am I right, Stujoe?

Yep, that is the RCC Ember. Richard posted about them here a little while back: http://www.coincommunity.com/topic....TOPIC_ID=143The other 2 odd looking 'coins' (no, not the SBA and the Kennedy ) are the 5 Ember and 10 Ember rcc tokens. My favorite Pocket Piece is also the SAE, though, and gets the most comments when it is seen.
