I was reading a post today by Goodasgold re Dutch East India Guldens but for some reason was not able to add the the post. Therefore I am creating a new post.
I bought these three guldens the other day and wonder if anyone can advise me as to their value?
Many thanks.
Sheen

Guldens were silver and had different designs. These copper coins I'd call duits.

The old thread was "archived". Archived threads are saved on the CCF server in compressed format and cannot be added to or edited. You can tell you're looking at an archived thread by the little "A" stamped on the folder in the tree, and by "archive=true" appearing in the URL, thusly:

Dutch-East-India-Guldens-With-Voc-Monogram.dated-1700's.

The only way to discuss items in archived threads is to do what you just did: start a new thread, preferably with a link to the old one, too.

Now, as to your coins: as svslav said, your coins are duits, or perhaps half-duits depending on size. The first one, with the lion on the shield half-submerged, is (perhaps not surprisingly) from Zeeland. #2, with two lions on top of each other, is from Westfriesland. The last one with two lions facing is from Gelderland.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

Turtle,
As you sell coins I was hoping to email you for some information. However, when I went to your profile I was unable to do so. Any ideas why?
I have only been a member of this forum for a short while, so maybe that is the reason.
