I'm thinking of selling my 1950 Silver Dollar but need some help determining which variety I have. I'm certain it's not the "four full waterlines variety". Do you think this is the 2 1/2 waterlines variety (Arnprior) or the "3 or 4 short waterlines variety (SWL)? Thanks for your help!
There are also "rays" missing on the end right end of the canoe, this variety is found on the SWL and Arnprior varieties. Therefore you have SWL; Missing Rays variety AKA 1950 Rev.-011...i believe
The 1950 issue of the Silver Dollar is arguably the most interesting issue of the entire 1935-1967 Silver Dollar series. There are numerous other minor varieties NOT even mentioned in Charlton. For instance there are ,even large 0 in date ,low small 0 in date. Missing "EH" , satin finish, (where all the Reverse #007 Logs on Island " are found) bright finish. For a so so mintage of 261,002 pieces there is a ton of fun to be had with the 1950!
