That is one very worn quarter. The mintmark is on the reverse (beneath the wreath on which the eagle is perched and above the R in QUARTER), so did you check that?

Carl, that right there sums up exactly why I love coins, cents especially... such a small denomination, with such big history...the countless hands, places, people, stories, and lives they've entered and more often than not, not even thought about!
