Even though this is not on a coin, I hope someone can tell me what is says. I have searched and searched different marks all to no avail! Thank you very much if you can help.

Is it on a metal dish or plate? It may be a manufacturer's hallmark of purity. But no script I've ever seen.

It is actually on the bottom of a ceramic tea set. I have looked though some of the hallmark websites but I can not find anything to match and to make it more difficult I do not know what language it is.

Looks to be Japanese. Though my Chinese is not good there are some characters I don't recognize. And it looks like you have the image on the wrong side. It needs to be rotated.

This is Seal script- an older form of Chinese writing. The top is to the right.
