I have seen the term "indiana primitive" used many times in descriptions of CWT'S, but have no idea what it reefers to. can someone explain?

It seems they are store card and civil war tokens made by this guy...
Henry D. Higgins was a jack of a number of trades who lived and worked in Northern Indiana. Among his products were barometers that area farmers used for weather predictions and eye glasses. During the Civil War Higgins produced tokens, both for individual merchants (store cards) and patriotic pieces which cannot be attributed to specific merchant.
Seems Liza Dolittle ran him off to Indiana....
