What MD Is Good For Newer Canadian Coinage

I'm interested in the Garrett Ace 250/350 or Fisher F2 or are there better entry level detectors out there the newer coinage? I have a budget of about 400.00 and would like to go new. Imohtep Valued Member Canada 321 Posts	Posted 06/15/2012 11:05 am I personally love my Garret Ace250. I purchased it in 2010 for just over 300$. It is a great entry level detector with easy to read settings. In the few hunts I have managed to have the time for, I've found over $10 face value in coins and a silver pendant worth over $100 You can always upgrade but my advice is to start with the Garret Ace250 It only senses up to 8+ inches which is more then enough depth to find any and all newer Canadian coinage. As there is a dealer in town I can go look and feel and hear before I buy something like this. Imohtep Valued Member Canada 321 Posts	Posted 06/15/2012 3:59 pm Don't forget to get yourself a pinpointer as well. They are very handy and will make it so you don't spend 10 minutes digging one hole to turn out a copper cent! I would advise getting yourself a Garret Ace250 and a pinpointer instead of just the Ace350. I've seen pinpointers sell anywhere between 20 and 80 dollars. Well worth it my friend! I picked up a new bounty hunter tracker IV a yr. and a half ago. Got it for less than $90.00 shipped from Amazon. Learned the machine and practiced a lot of patience etc. Actually very easy to use and learn. Super light weight, great battery life and comfortable to swing. Found hundreds of dollars worth of both clad and silver coins, gold and silver rings, gold and silver jewelry, Lead objects and just about anything else you can imagine. Found a meteorite just recently. Great in any soil conditions and super in the water and mud. No fine tuning needed. Surprised at the depth also. That depending on the soil conditions. Have gone down to 18" with it. Pretty good for that coil on it. Just one other model suggestion anyway. Report this Post to the Staff
