I finished my sea life series one set and have seen a few differences with the display boxes that the coin sit in, was wondering if anyone else has seen this. The grey boxes outside logo of the Perth Mint come in lage logo, medium/small logo and a misprinted logo. Hope to be able to take pictures later. My first guess is that the Perth Mint may change there stock or supplier of boxes? And I also got a coin with the outer box torn, but it wasn't done on purpose the box had glue inside it and it stuck to the display box and outer, obviously when it was pulled out the packaging tore, so bummed about this. grrr quality control. So this one will be for sale at some point.

hmm what an interesting thing to change. I'd guess that you are probably right in the change of supplier for the boxes. I do like the sea life series.

the bigger version looks like it would be more susceptible to damage, maybe thats the reason

To be quite honest AC the boxes and mint packaging hold no interest whatsoever to me, As long as the coin is fine that's all that matters to me. I don't buy for the packing, I buy the coin The packaging normally ends up as land fill

All these fancy boxes are a real worry as far as keeping the coin long term, they look great but at the end of the day they will damage your coin due to the steel and cheap fittings. I feel that my coins are safer in good 2x2's in an archive album. If you are buying solely to flip then don't dump the packaging cos you will loose value. If you are a collector then instantly get rid of the mint BS and look after the coin in the correct maner
