WOW you must be new here. First try Acetone. Second try Acetone. Third try Acetone. Prior to that though, use the Search tab at the top for Acetone. Many, many posts on that.
Like Conder said, PVC residue is easily removed with acetone. However, the damage is permanent. Keep in mind, collectors usually mix up PVC residue and verdigris. Acetone will NOT remove verdigris.
Yes, absolutely true....I've seen it a thousand times. Worse yet, I've had a couple people complain about VC not removing their verdigris. Then I see images of the coin and it's green paint or the like.....NOT verdigris.
