I have two questions about the RCM coin mintage and appreciate every feedback.

Question 1: Does the RCM need the authorization from the government of Canada before the RCM issue a certain mintage of Canadian circulation coins? The circulation coins include toonie, loonie, 50 cents, quarter, 10 cent, 5 cent, and penny. Which department of the government of Canada can decide the mintage of Canadian circulation coins if the answer is yes?

Question 2: Does the RCM need the authorization from the government of Canada before the RCM issue a certain mintage of non-circulation coins including numismatics and collectibles, and bullion?

I am asking these two questions because I think that the mintage of Canadian circulation coins must be approved by the government of Canada before the RCM's production, but the mintage of numismatics and bullion does not need government approval.

Please advise if I am wrong. Thanks.

Think I understand your questions dodola...

You appear to be asking about the end-number or total coins struck for a given year, for any given denomination that is struck...

I would say that the quantity of any given denomination produced in a given year ... would be based on what is required for circulation & is not a predetermined number...

Have to guess that the non-circulating collectibles etc... would also be determined by demand ... as there have been things that were one mintage number going to be produced and ended-up being less at years end...

dts...
