Hey folks... I posted this in a couple different roll hunting threads, but this seems to be more appropriate to find the most info for this variety.

Found this while roll hunting dimes this past weekend:

1970-P-10â˘--RDV-002-----Possible-Value?

I only looked for it because of Ken Potter's Strike it Rich book had it listed with an unknown value, but claimed it to be rare. Also variety vista has this transitional variety listed as rare. From doing a little research online it seems its only been recently discovered. Conversely I saw only one ebay listing for it and the seller had multiples that he was asking $8 ea.

Has anyone had much experience with this variety? If so what value or premium would it command? Also if any of my facts are skewed don't hesitate to correct.

Thanks in advance!

I'd say there is a lack of enthusiasm for this variety

@ Maineman

haha.. obviously it's no Wide AM or 1988 RDV-006

although I'm not really a not a 10¢ person, I can see expanding the dansco's with some cool varieties - if no one's looking, it'll be easier to do!

I have found two of these so far, and I don't look through very many dimes. I don't think they are as rare as some may think.

It seems like most of the 1970 dimes here have that reverse. I even found a 1969. I just started looking for these last night and I found 3 each of the 1970 P and D and one 1969. That is if I am looking at the correct differences. I got tired of looking for them. I had a $1,000 bag just looking for silver.

Maybe I am missing something or they are extremely common - but why would this be listed as rare on VV? I figure they would have had reason.... hmnnn..
