I have recently bought a 1922 gold certificate commemorative coin for 2 dollars and was wondering what its really worth. also do you guys know any banks or credit unions that have Kennedys or Eisenhowers. tried to upload pics but they were too big.





been collecting for about a month and already have three notebooks full.

I believe what you have is a medal rather than a coin. If it looks like the image below, it is a medal made of copper with a very, very thin layer of gold (so thin that the gold value is insignificant).

The piece was struck by a private mint, not the US Mint.

Paying $2.00 for it was a reasonable buy. Based on a quick look at the selling prices of similar items on ebay, $5.00 to $15.00 appears to be all that collectors are willing to pay for these pieces.
