Dealers were sent a fax stating the order period starts on June 26th not June 25th at 1pm as stated in the brochure

Don't see any stars in the bunch but several that I NEED to continue series (1/25 gold, Crystal dew, group of seven, specimen set, SE dollar) and a couple like the Mantis and the Shannon might make their way into my shopping cart. The discount information on 2008-2011 coins is very interesting....

Quote: does the new 1/25 gold really belong in the same set as before? That's a great question. I think it is part of the 50 cent 1/25 oz series going back to 2004 but I'm not 100% sure. The CP description refers to the latest coin as the second issue for the year (2012) so I assume the Bluenose was the first making the new coin the 10th in the series. I agree, that it wouldn't be considered part of the 2011 coins w/ 2500 mintages. Of course, there are silver versions of those designs too which compliment each other nicely.

@ CC-Ottawa, that's my point exactly. The 2012 caribou 1/25 looks nothing at all like all the other coins and as you said, there was already the release for this year, the bluenoose.
I think its just a gold coin sold on its on merit, not part of any set.

You could be right though it does say 'this second gold coin of the year....'

Its interesting to see on the sell brochures sent to CP outlets the discount they get on orders. The dealer margin range from 10% to 15% for new coins. Almost all the new coins had a discount of 15% except for the $988 gold coin which had a 10% discount. Older coins from past years ranging back to 2008 have 50-75% discount.
Also, the CP outlets had a quantity restriction. Minimum order is 1 coin. Maximum quantities of any single coin range form 1 to 10. The majority of coins had a 2, 3, or 4 coin limit. Obviously this restriction would not apply to bug dealers like Gatewest Coins.
