Congrats on the 1967 dime! I remember when I was growing up in the '70s it was quite common to see pennies and nickels from as far back as the '40s in circulation. Those have all but disappeared. We didn't see many dimes and quarters from the earlier '60s because of the silver content.

For me, it's rare now to see anything prior to the mid'90s these days. Everything else is getting scarce. I recently went through some change and threw a whole bunch of '80s coins back out there and I noticed the quality difference between today's coins and those ones. Still, I can imagine anyone who got them in change going "wow...a nickel from 1985!" It's the kind of thing I used to do as a kid!

A recently got a $20 bill in change with the serial no.

1771177

Never had one like that before. I guess it's probably not worth more than $20, right?

If it's in a high grade it may have some added value.
It's nice that there are only two numerals involved and it is a repeater 1771-177.

Cheers, Bill

Hey Dorado,

Some believe that hanging the horseshoe with the opening
pointing upward like a "U" holds in all the good luck and
the powers it brings. Hanging it upside down would allow
the powers to spill out. Others think that hanging it
with the opening pointing down allows all of the good
luck, protective powers and good fortune to shower upon
you and surround the home.

You are showered in good luck.

SilverDon- I had heard of this, but forgot. Thanks.

Dorado- I thought you had one somewhere. It appears to be working.

I think I had better keep an eye open for one for around here.

Thanks for the pic's Dorado.
Train kept a rollin' with 2 more Vimy's, a new Maple Leafs loonie, 2 no colour Canada 150 quarters and a 150 loonie. This is what last minute shopping with cash got me.
Forgot that I got a 1976 quarter as well.

Canadian change is worthless here in southeast Michigan so I find it everywhere. I'm estimating I've picked up or found somewhere in the neighborhood of $200 US in change I'll use on my next visit to Canada.

Glad that little hint is working for you. Now, how about that haul of silver dollars? All silver?. Or what? My 50 cent piece collection got a boost recently. What did you get?

timnic44 Thanks for mentioning the 1999P. I wasn't watching for those and just looked at a 1999 nickel that I pulled as the condition was great and low and behold it is a 1999P! My first.
