I was on Sydney Harbour for the '88 celebrations. Later on, I was on Milsons Point Railway Station, watching the fireworks. The Bridge was used as a scaffold to display fireworks. For those not familiar with Sydney, Google map 'Milsons Point'.

Just before the firework display finished, I jumped on a train and whilst it was crossing the Bridge, the Grande Finale of the fireworks built up to a crescendo. On the train, it was a bit like World War Three had started, with fireworks erupting all around us.

Most of the Tall Ships from around the World 1,000 tons and over, gathered on Sydney Harbour for the celebrations, including the U.S. C.G.C. Eagle.

One of those 'once in a lifetime' experiences you don't forget.

These are only medallions and are not as collectible as coins.
I'm not sure what they are valued at I bought mine a while ago.
But as a memento of the bicentenary it is worth a fair bit to me
mine is probably in better condition because it has been in a capsule over the years and not in contact with the air

WOW! Interesting medallion, of which I was totally unaware of. Ta for the pic.s!

The depiction of square riggers on coins and medals almost always ensure a handsome result.
