I posted a question about getting a Canadian coin certified
over at the Canadian grading forum. Also wanted a few more opinions before I make the decision about where to send it.
ICCS was the opinion over there. What do you think of NGC for a Canadian coin ? Being an ANA member I would consider them over PCGS as far as costs incurred. Just trying to figure out what would be the best because the coin will be sold. I saw that ICCS puts the coin in a soft flip or a hard case. Also
read that there was no insurance available in Canada for coins. Thanks for any guidance in this matter. I just want to do this one time and I also read about a lot of ICCS/NGC crossovers that were done and the opinions on those. ? :)

Unless this is new, I don't think that ICCS offers a hard case. I think they only have the flips.

CCCS, which is another well known Canadian TPG does offer a hard case or soft flip.

If I'm correct NGC is the worlds leader in foreign coins. They are bigger than PCGS in that area while PCGS is bigger than NGC in the US coin market

If you don't want to do ICCS the NGC is probably your best choice. As mkman123 says they are the most respected for non-US coins, other than Canadian where ICCS reigns supreme.

Are you sure of that? Do you have examples of the hard case? I ask because there are at least four different companies that have used the CCCS initials. As far as I know the soft flip CCCS is not the same company as any of the hard case CCCS companies.

Yeah, I am sure. You can see on their site they offer soft flips, or hard slabs.

Here is what a CCCS Slab looks like.

If the coin is uncirculated and for resale use ICCS or PCGS.
NGC graded Canadian coins don't sell well. They have a reputation for not being in touch with Canadian grading standards.
