I have many comic books I am thinking about putting on ebay. I collected these in the early 90's. Mostly Spider-Man issues. They have been stored in plastic and a backing board for many years in a box in my closet. I have been looking on ebay and they really don't sell that well. I have a Spider-Man series called "Maximum Carnage", it's a 14 issue saga. Now I have seen this set on ebay anywhere from $20-$100. I'm not sure how long they have been listed and I'm not sure what to charge. If they may not sell I wouldn't wanna waste an insertion fee. I want to get the most I can out of these. Sorry if this isn't the right forum for this. As for the other comics I have, I would love to get face value for them, they are definately worth more than that too. But reality says they won't sell even at face on ebay.

Not sure what you want out of this post? Aren't there comic book collector forums that could answer this? Just google it.

nds76,

Colin is right that a comic forum is better suited. Luckily I have a rather large collection that I stopped in the 80's when given the choice between coins & comics. But I still keep tabs on the market and here's a link to those forums

As far as selling them on e-bay its similar to selling coins. Understand your market by watching it for a bit. Place some "watch this" tags on items and see what goes on. Are prices better on weekends instead of weekdays? etc...

The final piece is presentation.
Like coins, certification goes a long way. If you don't want to spend the money on certification then I recommmend three photos. One of the book cover(to show any gloss), One page of the book (to show page color), and one shot of the spine (to show bends or wear).

Good Luck and hoppefully you will be feeding your coin habit with the future $$

Just thought somebody might know something about comics (collect) and selling them since we all use ebay. I have been out of the game too long as I haven't bought any comics in many years. Like I said they been in my closet since the early 90's and just wanna make some extra room and extra cash.
