I dunno... maybe because the local shop owner called his best customers to let them know that the good stuff was in stock and they rushed right down to buy it?
My local shops are decent but their inventory is always pretty limited. I do pick up something decent now and then but it is really hit and miss. I try to get in there at least monthly but more often would likely produce more good finds.
