Box of Quarters: no silver but a ton of ATB and BU/AU States. Even a few really nice looking Delawares. there was about $30.00 of bizarrely nice looking stateys. $7.25 in ATB. Almost 85% of this box was post 2000. $80 CWR quarters. $90 CWR halfs. $35 CWR dimes. $4 CWR nickels.the only silver I saw all night was in the reject slot of the coin star on my way out of the grocery store. I saw the guy counting change and heard some reject when I was going in. Had to look on the way out, glad I did.

I would have been happy with just the ATB's, but the 1963 dime is awesome!

How could you find coins in CoinStar? Do you mean that you insert coins, then push a button to let them out, and then the coins become different?

Peter, the machine will reject certain coins if it cannot determine what it is, if it is the wrong type of change, like wrong country, and if it is silver. I'm sure different machines may be configured or setup differently but this has always been the case for me.

Does that mean that you could use the Coinstar if you're too lazy to search?
Other than that, could you actually use a gift card to load cash with no charge? If so, does it have to be a Walmart or Safeway Gift Card?

Thank you

Peterson- no it only rejects some silver some of the time. from what I hear it is only dimes. but you can get your reject change counted and load up a giftcard and use it for groceries and whatnot. I think they have quite a variety of stores you can pick from.
