I can't seem to figure this one out.

It has a small die chip on the 8th feather like S4 (S5 has a larger die chip).

Repunching of the date looks like S7 (1/1 (s) and 9/9 (e)) but the Snow guide does not mention the die chip on the 8th feather for this variety.

thoughts?

You are right. It doesn't seem to exactly match S-4,5 or9
I would eliminate S-9 because of no die chip.
Where are the shield points in relation to the denticles?
S-4 shield pts. connected to denticles
S-5 shield pts almost connect to denticles.

I don't know how I missed your picture of the reverse.. Late night last night and a little groggy this morning. I tried logging into Heritage and was unsuccessful also. I will try a little later if no one helps you in the meantime.

That coin was sold in 2005. I don't believe Heritage had the real large closeups of their coins back then. Picture is too small to see die chip.

I don't have the Snow guide for this year, but I don't think die chips are always listed as markers--perhaps because that depends a lot on die state?

thing is, Snow lists that die marker for 3 other snow #'s this year. But not this one. I think I'll ask him about it.
