I went birthday shopping for my wife the other day and ended up with more silver for me than gift for her... oops.

One of the treasures I acquired was an Engelhard 10 oz poured bar, for near spot. I am torn as these go for a premium, I could flip it and up my oz count, or keep it. If I decided to sell where would be the best place? ebay fees kill any profit, here maybe? Craigslist... don't want anyone local knowing I have any PMs. Others?

The link in my signature is to a 10 oz. old constitution bar which ends later tonight round midnight, and it is setting at 320 right now....

It may go up to 350, then subtract 14% for bay and pp and you are back to around 300 bucks....

This particular bar usually lists at BIN at 450 or higher, but that is just unrealistic in my eyes with silver where it is and no where the numbers of dollars being poured into it as last year when it flirted with 50....

Post a picture!

When it comes to poured bars especially with engelhard and JM some bars command huge premiums while others are pretty common. Now if it's a ox/bull logo 5 digit bar you hit a bar that is worth the flip!

CP,

Ask TBK if he wants it. He's the resident silver gobbler around here.

I'm confused. If you are stacking silver, why not keep it? Why give part of the value of that bar to ebay and the post office?

ox/bull logo 10oz not a bad pick up at all, bonus that it was picked up near spot.
Should have no problem getting $350.00 plus for this bar as it does command a collectors premium

I'm not going to give ebay any fees, and I am stacking, but I buy, sell and trade, not just buy. Often I flip art bars bought at spot but sell or trade them at 2x or 3x. I enjoy wheeling and dealing and it builds my stack quicker.

Oops, indeed! One way to buy PMs and still get approval from the ladies is to buy it as jewelry. Very few gals will not be happy with nice jewelry. Gold chains and medallions, especially if they have an image of something that they really like on it, are especially good. No, this is not the most cost effective way to buy PMs but it sure is a great way of sliding them in under the radar.
