Hello and welcome.

It's an early Islamic bronze fals, probably Abbasid Caliphate dating from before 1000 AD. Islamic bronzes are typically harder than silver or gold coins to get a positive ID, since the mint-name and date are often not present or illegible. Here's the zeno.ru database for Abbasid bronzes, just to give you some kind of comparison.

If you know roughly which part of the Islamic world it might have come from, that could help narrow down the search.

Thank you very much for a great lead. The coin is rather badly corroded so it's hard to find the exact match off the bat.

It seems to be one of their earlier coin designs.
