I am a US coin collector and I know nothing about currency, but I was helping a friend get ready for a garage sale and she had an old candy box full of old foreign currency The box had a label that said "Paper Invasion Money - WWII". There are French Money, Germany, Japan, Phillipines under Japanese rule and several other european countries. The oldest date I saw was a German Bill with 1922. How do I find out if any of this stuff has value? Also included were three Confederate Notes that look real, One Five Dollar and two Twenty Dollar Bills minted in Richmond Virginia. I gave her $10 which was what she was going to ask in the sale. Any ideas?

Yes I have all those except the Yen note. There are a lot more besides including several different German Reichsbank note and Reichsmark bills. The oldest of those is 1910. I think many of these are occupation money, military script and some British Military Authority notes. There is a ton of this stuff and a great variety. Historically interesting, but is any of it worth anything?

okie check out my banknote link at the bottom of my responce and see if that will help you, by the way the bottom 3 that I posted are considered AMC Allied Military Currency. the plates were made by the US BEP some notes were printedby Forbes litheograph Co and MAybe American Ank Note I cant remeber exact info off the top of my head But any way these are private american printers who contaracted also some wher printed by The US. and even more interesting by Th USSR which were our Allie at the time and we proveided the Plates these are . meant to stabilize the economy of Said country . and are also like the 4 faters to MPC"s Military Payment certificates. the other thing is These notes also showed Who was in control . so to speak.

Thanks Scoutjim! I have several of the ones you show and some others I did not see in your collection. I also found the same notes as a few of mine on ebay. Most have no bids. I guess there was a huge amount of this occupation currency saved and it has little value? The three Confederate notes I received in the box I do believe are somewhat valuable. The 5$ note apperas to be retailing for around $75 and the two $20 notes around $50. Guess I did OK for ten dollars.
