I think a book "straight from the source" is a great idea.
I will volunteer to be an editor!

I'm not surprised.
The rotated isn't as sexy an error as, say the 50c Incused, or $1 mule, so won't grab the attention like they do.

Also, the degree of rotation is fixed, unlike the 2001 $1 and 20c coins which can be found in all degrees of rotation. These ones have added interest for those looking to make 'clock faces' of the varying degrees in which they can be found.

Still, it is most certainly a good one to have in the collection, and at a $50 price range - that is 100x face value, it'd get more interest, methinks.
The person who bought the Padstow coin was prepared to go higher than the $99 price, as they'd put a higher bid limit in when placing the original bid on it. Dunno why they didn't take the $70 one as well.

pd,
I am surprised that it did not sell.
$70 for a nice genuine error, that is rare enough that you cannot just go and buy it any time you want does not sound like too much to me.
I also disagree about the attractiveness of this error coin.
I think it is similar to the "$1 mule" and the "incuse 50c".
My reasoning is that it was an error in the installation of the die by the mint worker.
It is not just a mechanical failure like Cuds, die cracks or even normal rotated dies - in this case the die was installed incorrectly.
How often has this happened? I think it is pretty unusual.

I ended up getting the ebay rotated 50c, and ozcoins' impeccable logic helped ice the decision

These will get harder and harder to find in nice nick from circ. Mine's pretty good, and I'm happy with it

Having one in hand, it is a pretty neat variety, and is very easy to pick from a standard 2010 50c. I tried doing the mirror pic thingy, but don't have a lens that focuses close enough, so I put it in the scanner in a 2x2 so as to show the orientation and degree of rotation

Holding from COA side and then spinning it round to the obverse, the Queen is tilted to the right, with the II of Elizabeth II the new top point. On a standard 2010 COA the tip of her crown is just to the RHS on the top point.

Wow penny dreadful, you are really building up your collection .

First your hat-trick of Incused Millenium coins.
Now a 2010 Twist-top.

What coins are next on your "to get" list ?.

I really like the upset coins: The 2001 dollar was on ebay but I just missed out on it earler this evening... Missed another a few days back that was upset to about 3 o'clock - tonight's was a nice 6 o'clock version.

If any CCF people won any of these, please do show them off here!

Don't see many of the 20 cent versions for sale though - that might be the hardest one to locate.

I have been looking for a 2001 20c rotated die and have not found one yet.
I am looking forward to one of those turning up!
