Thanks, Hawk. I'm just wondering how long the silver price can remain below $30 an oz. For the past year or so, these drops to below $30 haven't been lasting all that long. There is a silver shortage these days but it is among the big boys and not among the small fry like us. If we want 50-100 oz. of silver, no problem. But if Eric Sprott wants to buy a couple of million ounces, BIG problem.

Yet another fine example of PMs holding their value. Yeah, we can always pick just the right buy and sell times to prove that this is not always true but then one could do that with any purchase. Heck, my best "investment" lately was a 1-L bottle of grape seed oil for $6.79. A week later I noticed that it can gone up to $11.29! Yikes!!

That it could, Hawk. The current silver to gold production rate is around 9.5 to 1. That combined with the fact that silver is WAY more useful for making high-tech stuff than is gold argues well for a considerably higher silver price. If the gold to silver price ratio was even 20:1 we would have an $80 silver price. Should the derivative bomb blow up on us, we could see MUCH higher PM prices.

Much as some people complain about manipulation of PM prices to suppress their prices, all PM buyers benefit from this. It is only the sellers who are hurt by price suppression. Anyone who is getting into PMs can do so much more cheaply than might otherwise be possible. A $100 silver price would mean that most of us could only buy 1/3 of what we can buy now.

Question is, will that corp manipulation ever end, lol?
Question is, will that corp manipulation ever end, lol?
Yes, I believe that it will and for three reasons: 1) the manipulators are having to do more and more paper PM dumping for less and less effect on physical PM prices; 2) Asians are huge PM buyers and slamming the PM prices lower only allows them to back up the trucks and take more and more of the dwindling western inventory home to the east; and 3) cracks are forming in the banking cartel bulwark lately, so in typical bankster fashion they will definitely sell out other corrupt colleagues to obtain lesser sentences for themselves at their fraud and conspiracy trials in 2013.

Yep, but who can blame them for being all messed up at such times? We guys can only wonder at the effects that pregnancy has on the female mind and body.

Having a ready supply of cash for those unplanned emergencies, which always seem to come up, is an excellent idea. It's good that she is in favor of putting away money for the future. Lots of young folks spend like there is no tomorrow. That usually ends badly.

I can see where that would appeal to your situation, Hawk, but we really should factor the November election into this. Whichever way it goes, there is likely to be a BIG impact upon PM prices. :-/
