I was also thinking how can it be RD if it hasnt been coated

I wondered about that too enworb. My best guess is that RD is the only grade that PCGS could give this coin. It's uncirculated...and it has very nice cartwheel luster...therefore it is "RED" to them.

That's my best uneducated guess for what it's worth...

Nice trade for now, but a gut feeling says that the slabbed zinc penny should have been kept. You can always buy gold.

I can't argue with this. Other than to mention that my gut feeling was different. Only time will tell.

I'm honestly hoping that the zincoln will eventually end up selling for much more sometime in the future. And I'm hoping to see it happen!

Trust me, if it does...and I see it...I'll be bragging about the fact that I found it!

In the meantime, I'm perfectly happy with my 1/4 eagle.

although...I still refuse to buy the gold page for my 7070 just yet. I don't think I could sleep at night thinking about all those other empty holes!

I would have kept it myself, but I can't fault trading it toward a classic Quarter Eagle!

I agree, collect what you like, trade what you do not.
