Hey guys,

Can you help me figure out this coin

Help-With-Identify-This-Coin?

Help-With-Identify-This-Coin?

I have two of those, this one is around 2.6 cm in diameter, the other is a bit smaller and in worst condition (so no photo). Any help helps and sorry for the crappy pic.

Konratax!!

A bit out of my area of knowledge but I am sure wiser heads will chime in when they get a chance.

At first glance, it looks like a provincial coin from Marcianopolis. Possibly Geta, but I suppose it could also be a young Caracalla.

Regards,

I agree with Geta and Marcianopolis for this one but if the other is smaller, it is not the same coin so no photo means no ID.

agree it looks like Geta, but I think it may have been struck at Hadrianoplis. I cannot read the legends on your images, but it looks like:

AE21 of Hadrianopolis-Sebaste, Phrygia. 5.32 gr. L CEP GETAC KAI, bare-headed, cuirassed bust right / ADRI ARC POTEITO, Tyche standing left, holding rudder and cornucopiae.

Take a look at this image on wildwinds: http://wildwinds.com/coins/ric/geta...GvA_8372.jpg

Do you have a way of measuring and weighing the coin. This can help in any attribution. And, BTW, welcome

Regards

I agree with jwharper however, I can not find a match with the letters "OV(or Y)MA. I believe the reverse depicts Tyche standing left, holding rudder and cornucopiae.
