I don't know much about these coins to purchase one in high grade. I've seen them go as high as a grand. It is up to you on how high you want to go. Personally, I wouldn't go higher than $300. Assuming that it's authentic. The coin looks good to me at first glance.

I don't like the looks of your coin. I may be way off base here, but this coin may be fake. Are you bidding on ebay or buying from a reputable dealer? I have one of these, and the obverse looks much different. Mine is not in great condition, but look at the difference in the portrait.

Really Bing? ... you think it might be a fake?
Well then, I will hold-off bidding ... thanks for the heads-up ...
Hmmmm, I thought it looked like a total winner ... there's one born every minute, eh?

I'm with JW on this one, I don't like the looks of it either. Details just don't seem right. Here is one of mine. Which I just posted on the last smakdown.

Honestly, my first reaction was the same as JW's I've shopped around for a deal on this type, and there's something about the surfaces:details that just don't add up in my mind--is it the weak legends on an otherwise detailed coin? I could be wrong, but something looks cast. But, I'll defer to more experienced opinions.

I looked on Forum's Fake database, but, to be honest, could not find what I would call a match. However, there are a lot that are close. I really am not certain this is a fake, but I would not bid on it because I do have questions about it's authenticity.

I didn't find a match either--no proof, just concerns.

Ummm, I think I was wrong. I think it was authentic. GOTCHA Jerry! I still think it was fake and you did the right thing.

Yup, I believe someone just won themselves a fake. I don't pity them though. At least there is one less fake out there on the market.

I have enough trouble paying $200 for a coin I believe is genuine and worth the price. Here we see a coin I believe was questionable on both counts. Both are just opinions.
