trout , do you still keep the outer case ,?and in the end when you want to sell , would it be better and easier to sell in it case rather then in it,s 2x2 ..
,, kel ,,

I have a large packing box full of the cases and boxes, coa's etc.
I have no intention of selling my NCLT collection but I kept the boxes so that they don't fall into the wrong hands .
It would be a sad day if some unscrupulous person got hold of some discarded mint packing and flogged off fakes in them.

thanks trout , yep , I understand that , but if you dont sell them then your wife and kids get them , or whatever,
but what I want to know is whoever decides to sell them some time in the future ,would they sell better in ther orignal case on just as well in the 2x2 ..

I imagine that they would sell better with the packaging, I will keep that in mind.
When my time is up I imagine I will have the opportunity to sell my little collection and get reasonable return for it for my family.
That is unless I go suddenly ( That could be on the cards if the missus ever found out just how much I spend on this hobby)

I have noticed you will generally get more for a proof set once it is broken out of the mint packaging. For single coins such as the pad printed $1 coins I would be leaving them in the packet for re-sale. I would also be leaving plain mint sets in the packaging unless they are a year that wasn't released for circulation eg 1986. This is because without the packaging the coin is just an UNC circulation coin.

Awesome. That's the sort of thing I was after, thanks heaps team Especially to you Sap, just a totally brillant answer mate and far beyond what I was expecting. I've been looking at those sites a fair bit and not only have you covered coins but you also covered some of my new notes I have and I thought when I bough them that some might have been war time and I've found out that some are Japanese occupation currency so I'm extremely happy with all the answers

I can't express to you all how much I truly appreciate it when I can be given good advice as I don't think some of you realise how hard it can be to get decent help when you have a little brain injury that means it takes a little longer for things to sink in..well only a little longer than it did before

So a lot of the time I'm so not only do I have to take my time and think about things a lot more I also have to take into account being on a limited budget now, so I have to think about that side as well..so any help is much appreciated

Life is so much harder now and I didn't realise how much I took for granted , even little simple things but I'm still here to ask these annoying questions so it's all good So thank you CCF for making my life a little better with good advice and even the odd laugh from time to time except trout sorry mate but you know I'm just a little but have the utmost respect for you
