Got it. It's not the rarity or the extreme wear, it's the extreme usage.

Actually, I think some coins look great worn all the way down. Morgans and Barbers are two that come to mind.

Has anyone ever resubmitted a low ball in hopes of getting a lower grade?

Just like trying to get a higher grade I bet people have trying to get the lowest grade on coins that are close

But unlike getting a higher grade, with a lowball, you could open the slab and carry it in your pocket every day for a few months and it will only get more lowball.

True which is probably what someone would do if they were trying for a lower grade
