I'm not an expert on French coins but I will venture to say that it is at least in VF condition, maybe VF+ with perhaps a lite strike and not sure about the dark spot. I couldn't find it in my book, what year is it? I'd guess late 1790's.

I think this almost EF apart from the staining.

See the detail on the acorns !

See the hair curls, only a bit of detail missing.

The centre of Centimes seems weakly struck.

Is it genuine ?

I think the date looks more like a 7 over a 3, rather than 7/5.
if I recall correctly, the Revolutionary Calendar began about 1792 -
see here if you desire to be further confused - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French...can_Calendar
If I read that correctly, Year 7 is 1799.

Thanks for the feedback.
Year 7 started in Septemer 1798 and ended 1799.
So the probability speaks for 1799 as year of mintage.
If you look closely, you should see the 5 behind the 7.
This type started year 5, so in any case the 3 can be excluded.
